Our Rationale

Why they’re
Sensible

Green earned his place on our slate the old-fashioned way — by showing up for Rapid City for decades before he ever asked for a vote. Fifteen-plus years on the Black Hills Federal Credit Union board, service on Wellfully's finance committee helping youth recovery, the parks-and-rec golf advisory committee, Leadership Rapid City — this is a résumé built block by block at home. His policy focus is equally local: an Ellsworth Air Force Base that keeps expanding, Missouri River water for the West River, and what he calls 'sensible restructuring of the property tax system to address the explosion of owner-occupied property taxes.' He came within 34 votes in the 2024 primary and accepted a recount result without theatrics — a temperament that matches his campaign's problem-solving pitch.

Scored Against the Five Principles
Local First
Lifelong Black Hills resident, Lead High School and SD Mines grad, 10+ years in the Rapid City City Attorney's Office, and 15+ years on the Black Hills Federal Credit Union board — a résumé built almost entirely inside District 34.
Constitutional Backbone
Life Member of the NRA and a career attorney (former public defender, city attorney, and health-system counsel) whose public platform centers rule-of-law priorities like public safety and limited government.
Affordability & Taxpayer Respect
Has made property-tax reform a named pillar of the 2026 campaign, specifically calling for restructuring to relieve 'the explosion of owner-occupied property taxes.'
Vision for South Dakota's Future
Concrete Rapid City growth agenda: back Ellsworth AFB expansion, deliver Missouri River water to western SD, and fund 'healthy economic development programs to support growth and expansion of local businesses.'
Sensible Temperament
Endorsed by predecessor Sen. Mike Diedrich for 'bringing people together and solving problems through steady leadership'; absorbed a 34-vote 2024 primary loss through a normal recount process without public attacks on his opponent.
